Cole’s Installations
Founded in 1952 by Edna and Laird Cole, Cole’s is a family-owned business that has been passed down through four generations. Our brick and mortar location in Brighton houses Cole’s Installations, our start-to-finish installations and project management service, as well as Cole’s Timber Mart, offering a vast selection of building materials.
From our beginnings as a post office and general store, Cole’s has always been a staple of the community and has evolved alongside it. The second generation of ownership, Al Robbins and Bill McIllveen, met the growing population’s needs by expanding the store’s offerings to include cement, lumber, and building supplies, eventually moving into the 47 Ontario Street location that would become Cole’s Timber Mart.
Continuing the legacy, Bill’s son-in-law George and grandson Mitch both devoted themselves to the family business and continued to improve upon the warehouse capacity, product selection, and connections with suppliers.
In 2019, with the increase of new development in Brighton and surrounding areas, Mitch joined forces with experienced local tradesman Brandon Freeman to found Cole’s Installations and provide even more value to our customers. Whether you have a small project or a large renovation on your hands, our skilled team will get the job done with reliable, friendly service and quality craftsmanship to enhance your home or outdoor space. We can help with a wide variety of interior projects, including full kitchen and bathroom redesigns, as well as all manner of exterior finishes and additions, including deck design and installation.

George Hamilton
Owner
George Hamilton, a guiding member behind Cole’s Installations, embodies Brighton's essence. Born and bred here, he's not only an enthusiastic owner but a true family man, cherishing time with his loved ones and four young grandsons. Beyond business, George is an avid golfer, a Toronto Maple Leafs enthusiast, and has dedicated many years to Brighton Minor Hockey, having coached in Brighton for the past 18 years.
Mitch Hamilton
Co-Owner
Mitch Hamilton, a true Brightonian and co-owner of Cole’s Installations, is the fourth generation at Cole’s Timber Mart. His journey in the family business began at age 14, doing everything from cleaning up the lumber yard to helping run deliveries. After completing his education, he returned in 2014. Beyond the boardroom, Mitch wears the hat of a devoted hockey coach in Brighton, hoping one day to extend his family legacy to the fifth generation; his three boys.
Brandon Freeman
Co-Owner
As a skilled carpenter with 20+ years’ experience in construction, Brighton-born Brandon Freeman is a co-owner of Cole’s Installations and the heartbeat of the company. Balancing out his professional expertise, Brandon is also a proud husband and father of two boys who coaches recreational sports in Brighton. Brandon prides himself on focusing not only on his business, but also on the community and giving back.
